Excited to be featured in SD Voyager!

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ricardo Mompremier.

Ricardo, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’m very passionate about design and creativity. I first began apparel designing when I was working in a design agency in Florida. Working and creating designs for an in-house surf brand had me pretty excited and amped to start my own line of clothing, A brand about the streets, urban life, or the hottest trends in the rap game, being very excited to take this route after the economic down term, which claimed my full-time job. I figured this would be my 9-5, and I was putting in work to launch the brand. Fast forward a bit, my wife and I decided to transition our family to San Diego, CA to connect more to our spiritual life. With the help of my in-laws helping us transition into SoCal, we landed in an amazing church here in San Diego called Open Door Family Worship Center.

It was here attending Open Door for a few years that I felt the connection deepening with the Lord and our spiritual life growing. It was at that point I realized in all things I wanted to glorify the Lord, so I dropped the urban clothing line passion and began a faith-based brand called FrshFaith Clothing. A new passion FrshFaith was created to fearlessly express one’s faith for God. This new direction, this newfound passion created the movement, Make Jesus Famous. And I love the responses; good, indifferent, Make Jesus Famous is a conversation starter. And that’s why I love spreading the good news about Jesus Christ through evangelizing with apparel. It’s been a long process; in being comfortable with myself in sharing my own faith or even inspiring and encouraging others to share their Faith and Love for Jesus Christ courageously.

FrshFaith means to Make Jesus Famous: “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16

Igniting a generation to stand in a posture of love and truth. A passion for Christ. Taking back on our Royal priesthood. That’s FrshFaith.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not been a smooth road lol, I’ve gone through mental battles on is this right, what would ppl think, will ppl like this. Finances to create the brand. Issues with getting the right exposure or not getting enough exposure. Being challenged by opposers, the list goes long. Heck yeah, there were obstacles and challenges lol.

But the joy of it all was the pushing pass speed bumps, breaking down mental/spiritual walls and barriers, running back to the word of God and equipping myself and others to withstand any challenge.

No one said it was going to be easy and help isn’t readily available to you when you first start. But what’s so amazing and inspiring is that, as you remain the course, seek the word of God, pray, faith/believe, (move, walk, run) towards this purpose of mine. The light of opportunities begins to shine on you. Doors begin to open for you which you made no request of. Ppl begin to personally make a request for what you’re providing. And help begins to become an option of your choosing. So the struggle has been real lol but being resilient has been so fruitful.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
FrshFaith MJF specializes in designing spiritual scripture and phrases on t-shirts, hats, almost all wearables. We specialize in using our brand to evangelize the word of God to believers and non-believers.

What I’m most proud of is that it aligns with the will of God for the purpose of my life. Others may not agree, but heck, they aren’t my creator so I give them no platform of influence lol. Seriously!

What sets me apart from others is that we’re more than an apparel brand. Were about the love of God, and we want to walk with you on this journey of faith in God.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was energetic yet complacent. Hopeful yet lacking complete follow-through, (on some things lol). Motivating but not fully comfortable in my own skin, and ultimately lacking knowledge of understanding my value and my self-worth.

When pushed, I learned there was a reason why I love smiling, laughing, joking and clowning around and just having fun. I learned to embrace my intelligence and the ways I learned and expressed myself. And I learned to love the reflection of myself just as much as the Lord loves me. I was a kid just being a kid.
